Poorly positionned

END OF THE PROCEDURE, ''POORLY POSITIONED'' STENT AND PUNCTAL FIXATION HEAD.

a)   SIGN : The guide (introducer) is fully withdrawn and the anchoring plug remains above the punctum.

b)   RISK  : Premature expulsion and failure.

c) PREVENTION :

- One should NOT TRY TO FORCE the stent in the canaliculus !nonono

- Positionning the Masterka by forcing the device will induce a SPRING effect of the silicone rod in the lacrymal pathway, inducing an early exteriorization of the Masterka.crying

- That will lead to a too short intubation duration and the risk of failure of the procedure.cryingcryingindecision

d) WHAT TO DO : Withdraw the Masterka and see :  ''Keys to succes''  smiley.
